I just tried to get this working with the first two IP’s on this page:
http://www.topmudsites.com/forums/mudlist.html
It recognizes my AP fine, then I hit the A button and get a bunch of dots, then after a while it says Connected and shows ip/gateway/mask/dns1/dns2 all as 0.0.0.0.
then after a few seconds I get a keyboard and nothing else.
Hope this feedback is useful. This could be a really cool way to play MUDs on telnet.

Not sure if I’m doin something wrong here, it appears to see my network, takes a while to acquire dhcp, then it shows the dns and gateway addresses as all 0.0.0.0, does it not like WEP or can I set it manually somehow?
After it shows that list for a minute or two it brings up a keyboard with a black screen. I don’t have any errors spitting at me anywhere that I can see and it will just sit there forever if I let it. It doesn’t appear froze as I can touch the keyboard keys and they animate but thats all that happens.
Lastly a question, will it take the standard http://www.whatever.com:port and 255.255.255.255:port syntax in the config.cfg? I’ve tried both and have the same results so far without any differences.

this means you are getting low wifi connectivity or your router is set to not use dhcp.

http:// is used to show a browser that you are using HTTP protocol, as we are using telnet http://www.whatever.com is not supported but
www.whatever.com
should be… as for port setting that is specifically defined as port 23 (the telnet port) in the code (no email spoofing for u port 25 users)

mm well if the port setting is stactic at 23 theres not much I can do with it then, thanks for all your work so far

I can make it so ports other than 23 can be selected but i will blacklist port 25. The only problem is the cord to the computor on which i am developing this application is broken and the computor is out of battery.

That is unfortunate to hear, I would love a user definable port and server, I dont think many who would really use this would bother with mail spoofing ona ds but please put up a new version when you can.

I recently downloaded your program dstelnet. I created a folder in the root of my ds card and called it DSTELNET, and created a text file in it called “config.cfg” and put in it the address for a mud. When I launch the program I keep getting what all the other people here were getting…ip/gateway/mask/dns1/dns2 all as 0.0.0.0, with a keyboard showing up a bit later. I would love to get this to work. Exactly how do you require the mud address to be written? The mud I want has a port 6000…is it possible to run this mud?

You cannot currently set the port but the format of the ip address is the following:
127.0.0.1
and nothing else
